DIRECTOR/CREATOR
Moushumi is a filmmaker, author, and licensed sex therapist based in Los Angeles. Her work explores the intersections of identity, sexuality, culture, and emotional truth. Blending documentary, narrative, and experimental forms, her films center real stories—often drawn from her own experiences—and shine a light on topics that are frequently misunderstood or hidden.
She is the creator of Temples and Brothels, a docuseries that travels through India to explore how sex and spirituality coexist, and how cultural and personal histories shape our views on intimacy and connection.
As a queer South Asian woman and longtime therapist, Moushumi brings a unique perspective to filmmaking—one that is honest, introspective, and deeply human. Her work creates space for reflection, conversation, and healing through storytelling.
